Good modern prog albums are a rare beast in my eyes so this was a nice discovery. This album is very layered yet crisp sounding. Not exactly heavy but delightfully dense. Among other things the vocals are not someone's Dad doing their worst Roger Waters impression but are actually, quite good and give the music its own identity. I especially like the performance on Suli's rise. The songs flow really well and there's a lot of extremely ambitious playing. Also bonus points for church organ.

This is perplexing me to ... peace*. What? An 18piece ensemble - using e.g. sitar, dulcitone, bassoon, kendang, erhu besides "normal" winds, strings, keys & percs - plays something between ±modern but un-bulky melodic chamber and multi-ethno-/world-music. First, compositions seem very easy to "digest". Then, I (you?) get perplexed by their shrewdly balanced complexities, bringing me (you?) balmy & *peaceful exitement; reliably every time I (you?) listen. Thank you, Charlie Cawood!

Ah, why didn't I buy this earlier? Has been on my wishlist since it's release and Bad Elephant Music's sampler and ongoing sales campaign luckily triggered the buy. Tags given are post-progressive and post-rock, but the music feels much lighter than I usually associate with those tags. Quite song-oriented, indeed. Great music, great vocals.

This morning by chance I came across this band on progarchives. As I am 69 and followed the Softs et al to a new level of music first time around, listening was instantly very emotional. I am so pleased that this magnificent genre is being developed by a new generation - well done !
